To model, manufacture and assemble the new steel structure of the Arena da Baixada in Curitiba, Brazil, Brafer Construções Metálicas S/A chose Tekla. Renovated and expanded stadium hosts four football games in summer 2014 With 41,000 seats, the stadium now meets all international standards for quality, comfort and safety.

The challenges in the project included the 200 meter long free-spanning structure and the tight schedule. Brafer used 4,500 tons of steel for the roof, which has 10 meters high and 4.5 meters wide trusses that span the entire width of the stadium. To overcome the challenges, Brafer relied on Tekla´s software, which allowed them to model and detail faster the steel structure and thus save time and consequently also money. In addition Brafer used Tekla BIMsight to share information and integrate the entire production and assembly process.

Cidon Construction’s Managing Director Ciaran Donnelly talks about why they chose Tekla software to streamline their own processes and the benefits of BIM software for concrete contractors. Ciaran has worked as a Project Manager and Senior Project Engineer on a number of major projects with Balfour Beatty, before establishing Cidon Construction in 2001.

Shopping center Puuvilla is founded on piles. The frame is built with reinforced concrete pillars, hollow-core and cast-in-place slabs and pre-stressed concrete beams, with interconnecting steel pillars and beams on the Kutomo end.

Para modelagem, fabricação e montagem da nova estrutura metálica da Arena da Baixada, em Curitiba, Brasil, a Brafer Construções Metálicas S/A adotou o software Tekla. Reformado e ampliado para receber quatro partidas do maior torneio mundial de futebol, que acontece no Brasil a partir de 12 de junho de 2014, o estádio hoje tem capacidade para 41 mil torcedores e atende aos padrões internacionais de qualidade, conforto e segurança.
Com aproximadamente 4.500 toneladas de aço, o projeto da nova cobertura da Arena trouxe o desafio para ser construída em prazo apertado e possuir um vão livre de 200 metros. Para vencer o desafio, a Brafer confiou no software Tekla, que permitiu a modelagem e execução do projeto de detalhamento da estrutura metálica de uma forma muito rápida. A Brafer usou ainda a ferramenta BIMsight do Tekla para compartilhar informações, integrar o processo de produção e reduzir prazo e custos.
